Review: Copie conforme is the first European film by Abbas Kiarostami, a veteran Iranian director who knows well the secrets of his job. That’s clearly shown in this last film, which has an obvious European designation of origin in all of its faces: the script, a dialectal sequence-shot that contains the nearly typical existential complexes of the upper middle class, the camera, that moves quietly between the main characters, the scenario, the Tuscany, and even the actors, led by Juliette Binoche. With all this, Kiarostami approaches successfully to the European cinema, with its tics and pathologies, creating an interesting film, which has been considered the best of the year 2010 by several film critics.
